In a momentous display of dedication and excellence, the NCC Group Headquarters in Mysore has etched its name in history by ensuring the maximum participation of cadets from Mysore and Hassan in the prestigious Republic Day Parade and Thal Sena held in Delhi. Under the guidance of dedicated officers and instructors, cadets from various units showcased their skills and discipline on Kartavya Path, Letuyens Delhi, during the Republic Day Parade 2024.
The units, including the 13th, 14th, and 3rd Girls Karnataka NCC Battalion, 1 Arty Battery, and 1 Engr Coy in Mysore, along with the 15th Karnataka NCC Battalion in Hassan, provided exceptional training to the army cadets. Additionally, the 3 Naval Unit and 4 Air Squadron NCC in Mysore ensured top-notch training for naval and air cadets, respectively.
A significant highlight was the collaboration between the *3 Naval Unit Karnataka and The Royal Mysuru Sailing Club*, which facilitated naval training for cadets in the serene backwaters of Krishna Sagar Dam. *Furthermore, after an eight-year hiatus, the 4 Air Squadron in Mysore resumed flying activities for NCC cadets, opening new horizons of opportunity.*
The exemplary conduct of officers, JCOs, training instructors, GCIs, and ANOs played a pivotal role in nurturing the young talent of Mysore and Hassan, providing them with a national platform to showcase their abilities and motivating local youth to contribute to the nation-building process.
Acknowledging the remarkable achievement, the state government, under the leadership of *Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah and Education Minister Shri Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, provided essential funding through the Chief Minister's office.* Notably, Dr. M.C. Sudhakar's daughter is also an NCC Cadet, reflecting his personal commitment to youth development.
In a gesture of further support, *the state government has pledged to establish an *NCC Academy in Mysore*, *aimed at enhancing character building and leadership skills among local youth.* This initiative underscores the government's recognition of the invaluable role played by organizations like the NCC in shaping the future leaders of the nation.
The journey to Delhi for the Republic Day Parade was not only a historic moment but also a transformative experience for many cadets, with 80% of them traveling by air for the first time. This milestone not only celebrates the achievements of the NCC cadets but also symbolizes the collective efforts of the community and government in fostering a culture of excellence and patriotism among the youth of Mysore and Hassan.
