Today, a raid campaign has been launched against the shopkeepers selling tobacco products who have not complied with Section 6A of the Kotpa Act, from Station Road to Shankar Chowk, under the tobacco control programme, by the guerrilla squad formed under the tobacco control programme.
The raid campaign was *jointly led by DSP Headquarter Prabhakar Tiwari* and Manoj Kumar Jha, programme officer of SEEDS, in which the police force of the DSP headquarter office and city police station in-charge were involved.
Socio Economic and Educational Development Society, the technical support organization of the state government for the tobacco control programme. (Seeds) Manoj Kumar Jha told that under the tobacco control programme jointly run by the state government and Seeds in all 38 districts of the state, under the Tobacco Control Act Kotpa-2003, while appealing to the residents of the district, said that we We have to start a campaign to make our district a tobacco-free district, so that our future generations can be saved from the ill effects of tobacco.
All shopkeepers selling tobacco products located within 100 yards of all educational institutions will be regularly raided.
Instructed to put a board of tobacco free area in the office at public places.
He said that due to the successful implementation of the COTPA Act passed by the Indian Parliament in the year 2003, a great deal of success has been achieved on tobacco control in the country.
He pointed out that smoking is a dangerous habit where there are small children.
